_ Research Results on Physics and Detector at Linear Collider _ Main Contributions to OPAL Physics Results

- Made precise measurements of hadronic cross sections to determine the number of generations to be exactly three.
- Combined analyses of Z^0 lineshape and electroweak measurements to test the standard model down to quantum corrections; Correctly predicted the top quark mass; Now predicts the Higgs boson mass to be below 200GeV; Also hints at supersymmetric grand unification at an extremely high energy.
- Made unbiased searches for new particles such as Higgs bosons and heavy leptons in the initial phase of the experiment.
- Measured forward-backward asymmetry of hadronic events by using quark charge technique; Made a pioneering study of B meson oscillation by applying the same technique.
- Lead the initial studies to measure the W boson mass; Studied four-fermion final states to constrain the triple gauge boson couplings.
- Only those I made major contributions to are listed here. See this page for all the OPAL publications.

_ Main Contributions to AMY Physics Results

- Measured total hadronic cross section and determined the mass of Z^0 and the strong coupling constant.
- Searched for heavy quarks (top or 4th down quarks) using event shape variables.
- Construction, calibration, and operation of the Central Drift Chamber. Developed track reconstruction programs.
