                We recommend to use JR-Tokai Shinkansen (Japanese TGV) from Kyoto to Tokyo.
                There are frequent services every 20 min. or so, and you can buy tickets at the JR-Kyoto station.
                Buy the ticket for fastest service "Nozomi" train with seat reservation (there are wagons without seat reservation as well).
                The train stops at Tokyo-station, thus you need to change to JR-lines or Tokyo-Metro to reach your hotel.

        e) Tokyo Metro

                There are 1 or 2 day ticket, airport +1-day ticket etc.

                But perhaps you just need to buy simple ticket each time during the workshop.

2) Venue

3) Currency

        Japan is still a county of cash in many places. Exchange rate is about 100 JPY/EUR, 80 JPY/USD.
        Avoid money exchange at air-port, but you should be able to find good exchange rate with buy/sell = +-2% margin at major cities.

4) Plug

        Japan is A-type with AC 100V, 60Hz in Kyoto and 50Hz in Tokyo.

        You should be able to find plug-exchanger at air-port, otherwise you rush to world-famous electric city Akihabara in Tokyo.
