Joint Research

Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology-certified joint usage/research centers are frameworks for joint use and research involving large facilities, materials, and data. They go beyond the bounds of individual universities to foster the development of Japanese academic research.

ICEPP has been certified as a Research Center for Elementary Particle Physics at the Highest-Energy Frontier (2010 to 2015 and 2016 to 2021). It must lead and carry out global joint experiments as a central site of Japan's elementary particle physics research, using the world's state-of-the-art accelerators. Furthermore, with the aim of providing research support to the researcher community through the promotion of site activities, it is enriching its equipment and facilities, calling for joint research applications, holding regular research sessions and workshops, and creating programs for nurturing new researchers, all through its open and transparent management system.
