Large Hadron Collider - LHC


LHC (Large Hadron Collider) is an accelerator/collider which accelerates protons (and also ions) and brings them into head-on collisions at higher energies than ever achieved (14TeV: a hundred and sixty times larger than the energy needed to create a Z boson).
The LHC is being built utilising the 27-kilometre underground LEP tunnel after the LEP completed its mission. In order to study the physics phenomena at the high energy frontier in the LHC, the following experiments are planned:
